LA Genetics LLC was established in 1988 as a 4-H project for Lance Thompson. As Lance grew up, the project and operation became a family affair. What started as one bred heifer has turned into an operation that consists of 30 purebred Angus and Simmental females, along with an emphasis in the club calf market. All breeding decisions at LA Genetics are either 100% AI or embryo transfer. Most of the cattle marketed at LA Genetics are through private treaty farm sales, but occasionally consign both live cattle and embryos in some public auctions. Please refer to our website to see updated information on donors, bulls, and embryos as well as club calf show heifers and show steers available during the year.

LA Genetics is located in the Russellville, Missouri area, nestled in the foothills of the Ozarks, between Jefferson City and the Lake of the Ozarks. The farm is joined on the Lola Mae Pittrich farm, consisting of 240 acres of brome and fescue hay/pasture land. Besides raising cattle, the Thompson family raises a quality crop of brome and fescue hay that they market to local farmers in central Missouri.

The Thompson Family, Larry, Judy, Lance and Melissa, operates LA Genetics LLC.

The Thompson family invite and encourage you to visit their farm and website. If there is anything that they can do for you, please contact them at your earliest convenience.
